Supporting Seniors Through
the Complex Downsizing Process
Eighteen percent of Greater Victoria's residents are over 65 years old (#3 ranking in Canadian cities with the greatest number of people 65+). Our region's seniors population is still growing as the first baby boomers now turn 65 and retirees continue relocating here.
Seniors' demand for downsizing to different accommodation is increasing at an equally fast rate. They are changing their residence for various reasons:
- health needs (current and future)
- ability to manage independently
- loss of significant other
- social interests (closeness to family and friends)
- desire to lessen demands on themselves and grown children
- sense of safety
- financial needs
This is a complex set of considerations, often leading to a home sale, and having to choose from numerous residential options available to address seniors' changing needs.
Bridget Ittah is pleased to offer her comprehensive nursing and real estate knowledge to support seniors (and their families if requested) in choosing a residential transition that will bring the most ease, comfort and enjoyment to their lives - whether that be to a family home, townhouse, condominium, retirement residence, assisted living or residential care. The result: finding the best place to call home!
